Ground/GND

What is a ground?

Ground (GND) is a reference point in an electrical circuit that serves as a common return path for electric current and is defined as having zero voltage potential. It provides a stable voltage reference against which all other voltages in the circuit are measured. In electronic circuits, ground connections ensure proper current flow, reduce noise, and provide safety by giving excess electrical energy a safe path to dissipate.
