Bear Hang
What is a bear hang?
A bear hang is a food storage method where campers suspend their food, scented items, and garbage from a rope between two trees or over a high branch to keep them away from bears and other wildlife. The hang must be at least 12 feet high and 6 feet from any tree trunk to be effective. This technique is essential in bear country where bear canisters aren't required, helping protect both wildlife and campers by preventing animals from accessing human food sources.
