Gaiters
What are gaiters?
Gaiters are protective leg coverings worn over boots and lower pants legs during hiking and backpacking. They prevent debris like rocks, snow, mud, and vegetation from entering your boots while providing additional protection against moisture and abrasion. Gaiters typically extend from the ankle to mid-calf or knee, securing with straps under the boot and around the leg, making them essential gear for trail hiking, bushwhacking, and winter outdoor activities.
