Guy Line
What is a guy line?
A guy line is a tensioned cord or rope that extends from a tent, tarp, or shelter to an anchor point on the ground to provide stability and structural support. These adjustable lines help secure the shelter against wind, maintain proper fabric tension, and create additional interior space by pulling out tent walls or rainfly panels. Guy lines typically attach to designated loops or grommets on the shelter and use stakes, rocks, or trees as ground anchors, with tensioning hardware like line locks or taut-line hitches for easy adjustment in varying weather conditions.
