Hip Belt
What is a hip belt?
A hip belt is a padded waist strap system attached to backpacks that wraps around the hiker's hips and pelvis. It transfers the majority of the pack's weight from the shoulders to the stronger hip and leg muscles, reducing fatigue and improving comfort during long hikes. Most hip belts on hiking backpacks feature adjustable straps, padding for comfort, and often include small pockets for storing frequently accessed items like snacks, maps, or GPS devices.
