Simmer Control

What is a simmer control?

A simmer control is a flame adjustment mechanism on camping stoves that allows precise regulation of heat output for low-temperature cooking. This feature enables backpackers and campers to reduce the flame to a very low level for simmering sauces, melting snow, or cooking delicate foods without burning. Simmer controls are especially valuable on high-output stoves that might otherwise be too powerful for gentle cooking tasks, helping to conserve fuel and improve cooking versatility in the backcountry.
