Technical Fabric

What is a technical fabric?

A technical fabric is a synthetic material engineered with specific performance properties for outdoor activities and harsh conditions. These fabrics are designed to provide functions like moisture-wicking, waterproofing, breathability, insulation, or UV protection while remaining lightweight and durable. Technical fabrics are commonly used in outdoor gear such as hiking clothing, sleeping bags, tents, and backpacks to enhance comfort, safety, and performance in challenging environments. Examples include Gore-Tex for waterproof breathability, merino wool blends for temperature regulation, and ripstop nylon for tear resistance.
