Thru-hike
What is a thru-hike?
A thru-hike is a long-distance hiking journey where a person attempts to complete an entire trail from end to end in one continuous trip, typically within a single hiking season. This type of backpacking adventure involves carrying all necessary gear and resupplying along the way, often taking weeks or months to complete trails like the Appalachian Trail, Pacific Crest Trail, or Continental Divide Trail. Thru-hikers usually cover 15-25 miles per day and must plan extensively for food resupply, weather conditions, and gear durability over the extended journey.
