Toe Box

What is a toe box?

A toe box is the front portion of a hiking boot or outdoor shoe that surrounds and protects the toes. It provides crucial protection from rocks, roots, and debris encountered on trails while allowing adequate space for toe movement during long hikes. A properly sized toe box should have enough room to wiggle toes comfortably, as feet tend to swell during extended hiking, and helps prevent blisters, black toenails, and other foot injuries common in outdoor activities.
