Top Lid

A top lid is the removable upper compartment or flap found on many backpacking and hiking backpacks. It provides additional storage space for frequently accessed items like snacks, maps, first aid supplies, or rain gear, while also serving as a weatherproof cover for the main pack opening. Many top lids can be detached and converted into a small daypack or fanny pack using integrated straps, making them versatile for short hikes away from base camp.
