Track

What is a track?

A track is a visible path or trail created by the repeated passage of animals, humans, or vehicles through natural terrain. In hiking and backpacking contexts, tracks can refer to established hiking trails, animal paths that may serve as navigation routes, or the footprints and signs left behind by wildlife that outdoor enthusiasts learn to identify. Understanding how to follow and interpret tracks is valuable for navigation, wildlife observation, and maintaining awareness of your surroundings in backcountry settings.
