Wicking

What is wicking?

Wicking is the process by which moisture and sweat are drawn away from the skin through fabric fibers and transported to the outer surface where it can evaporate. This moisture management technology is essential in outdoor clothing like base layers, hiking shirts, and socks to keep campers and hikers dry and comfortable during physical activity. Synthetic materials like polyester and merino wool are popular wicking fabrics because they prevent the accumulation of moisture against the skin, reducing chafing and helping maintain body temperature regulation.
