Refresh Rate

pc

The refresh rate is the number of times a display updates its image per second.

expanded

The refresh rate is measured in hertz (Hz) and indicates how many times the image on a screen is refreshed every second. A higher refresh rate results in smoother motion on screens, which is particularly important in scenarios such as gaming or video playback to reduce motion blur and improve user experience.

examples

A monitor with a refresh rate of 144 Hz displays 144 images per second.

This refresh rate is commonly used in gaming to provide smoother motion without screen tearing.

A standard office laptop typically has a refresh rate of 60 Hz, suitable for general productivity tasks.

This refresh rate is sufficient for activities like word processing and web browsing.
