Encoder
What is an encoder?
An encoder is a sensor device that converts mechanical motion (rotation or linear movement) into electrical signals that can be read by microcontrollers or other electronics. It typically produces digital pulses or analog voltages that correspond to position, speed, or direction of movement. Common types include rotary encoders used in volume controls and motor feedback systems, and linear encoders used for precise position measurement in CNC machines and 3D printers.
