Filtering

What is filtering?

Filtering is the process of selectively allowing or blocking specific frequency components of an electrical signal while attenuating others. It is commonly implemented using passive components like resistors, capacitors, and inductors, or active circuits with operational amplifiers. Filtering is essential for removing unwanted noise, separating signals of different frequencies, and conditioning signals for proper circuit operation in applications like audio processing, power supplies, and communication systems.
