Firmware
What is firmware?
Firmware is low-level software that is permanently stored in non-volatile memory (like flash memory or ROM) and provides the basic operational instructions for a hardware device. It acts as an intermediary between the hardware components and higher-level software, controlling fundamental functions like boot processes, hardware initialization, and basic device operations. Unlike regular software, firmware is typically embedded directly into the device during manufacturing and requires special procedures to update or modify.
