Flux

What is flux?

Flux is a chemical cleaning agent used in soldering to remove oxidation and impurities from metal surfaces, ensuring proper solder joint formation. It helps the molten solder flow smoothly and bond effectively to component leads and PCB pads by preventing oxidation during the heating process. Common types include rosin-core flux (built into solder wire), liquid flux, and paste flux, each designed for different soldering applications and requiring varying levels of post-soldering cleanup.
