Footprint
What is a footprint?
A footprint is the physical layout pattern that defines how an electronic component connects to a printed circuit board (PCB). It specifies the exact size, shape, and spacing of pads, holes, and mounting features needed to properly solder the component to the board. Footprints are created in PCB design software and must match the component's package type exactly to ensure proper electrical connections and mechanical fit.
