Gateway

What is a gateway?

A gateway is a network device that acts as a bridge between two different networks or communication protocols. It translates data formats, protocols, or addressing schemes to enable communication between incompatible systems. In IoT and embedded systems, gateways commonly connect local devices using protocols like Zigbee or Bluetooth to internet networks using Wi-Fi or Ethernet. They often provide additional functions like data processing, security filtering, and protocol conversion.
