Heat Sink

What is a heat sink?

A heat sink is a passive thermal management component designed to dissipate heat away from electronic components or circuits. It typically consists of metal fins, plates, or other structures with high surface area that absorb heat from hot components and transfer it to the surrounding air through conduction and convection. Heat sinks are commonly made from materials with high thermal conductivity like aluminum or copper, and are essential for preventing overheating in CPUs, power transistors, voltage regulators, and other heat-generating electronic devices.
