Impedance
What is impedance?
Impedance is the total opposition to alternating current (AC) flow in an electrical circuit, measured in ohms (Ω). Unlike resistance which only opposes DC current, impedance combines resistance with reactance from capacitors and inductors that store and release energy. It varies with frequency, making it crucial for designing AC circuits, audio systems, transmission lines, and matching components to prevent signal reflections and power loss.
