IP Rating
What is an IP Rating?
An IP Rating (Ingress Protection Rating) is a standardized classification system that indicates how well an electronic device or enclosure is protected against the intrusion of solid particles and liquids. The rating consists of two digits: the first digit (0-6) indicates protection against solid objects like dust, while the second digit (0-8) indicates protection against water ingress. Common examples include IP65 (dust-tight and protected against water jets) and IP67 (dust-tight and can withstand temporary immersion in water up to 1 meter deep).
