Magnetometer

What is a magnetometer?

A magnetometer is a sensor that measures the strength and direction of magnetic fields in its surrounding environment. It detects variations in Earth's magnetic field or artificial magnetic sources, outputting data that can be used for navigation, compass applications, or metal detection. Commonly found in smartphones, drones, and scientific instruments, magnetometers enable devices to determine orientation relative to magnetic north and detect nearby ferromagnetic objects.
