What is a parallel circuit?

A parallel circuit is an electrical circuit where components are connected alongside each other, creating multiple paths for current to flow. In this configuration, each component receives the same voltage as the power source, but the total current is divided among the different branches. If one component fails or is removed, current can still flow through the other branches, allowing remaining components to continue operating. Parallel circuits are commonly used in household wiring, car electrical systems, and electronic devices where independent operation of components is desired.
