Pitch
What is a pitch?
Pitch is the center-to-center distance between adjacent pins, leads, or components in electronic circuits and PCB layouts. It is typically measured in millimeters or mils (thousandths of an inch) and determines component spacing and PCB trace routing. Common pitches include 2.54mm (0.1 inch) for through-hole components, 1.27mm (0.05 inch) for many surface-mount devices, and various standardized pitches for different package types like QFP, BGA, and connector systems.
