Silkscreen
What is a silkscreen?
A silkscreen is the printed text and symbols layer on a printed circuit board (PCB) that provides component labels, reference designators, and other identifying information. It appears as white, yellow, or other colored ink printed on top of the solder mask and helps technicians identify components, their orientation, and their values during assembly, testing, and troubleshooting. The silkscreen layer typically includes component outlines, pin 1 indicators, company logos, and part numbers to make the PCB more user-friendly and professional in appearance.
