Standoff
What is a standoff?
A standoff is a threaded mechanical fastener used to create a fixed gap or spacing between two components, typically circuit boards and enclosures. It consists of a hollow or solid cylindrical body with internal threading on one or both ends, allowing screws to be threaded into it from either side. Standoffs are commonly made from metal, plastic, or nylon and are essential for mounting PCBs at the proper height while providing electrical isolation and preventing short circuits against the case.
