Thermal Paste

What is thermal paste?

Thermal paste is a thermally conductive compound applied between a heat-generating component (like a CPU or GPU) and its heat sink to improve heat transfer. It fills microscopic air gaps and surface imperfections that would otherwise trap air and reduce cooling efficiency. The paste typically contains materials like silver, zinc oxide, or ceramic particles suspended in a silicone or metal-based carrier to maximize thermal conductivity while remaining electrically insulating.
