Through-hole

What is a through-hole?

A through-hole is a plated hole that passes completely through a printed circuit board (PCB) from one side to the other. It serves as both a mounting point for electronic components with wire leads and an electrical connection between different layers of the PCB. Through-hole components are inserted into these holes and typically soldered on the opposite side, providing strong mechanical connections and reliable electrical contact for applications requiring durability.
