What is WiFi?
WiFi is a wireless networking technology that allows electronic devices to connect to the internet and communicate with each other using radio waves in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands. It enables devices like computers, smartphones, IoT modules, and microcontrollers to transmit data without physical cables over distances typically ranging from 30 to 300 feet depending on the standard and environment. WiFi operates using IEEE 802.11 protocols and requires a wireless access point or router to create a local network that can bridge to the internet.
