Direct Overclock Profile (DOCP)

pc

DOCP is a BIOS feature used to automatically configure RAM settings for overclocking on AMD platforms.

expanded

Direct Overclock Profile (DOCP) is a technology present in certain AMD motherboard BIOS systems that simplifies the process of overclocking system memory. By selecting a DOCP profile, the motherboard automatically sets optimal frequencies and timings for the RAM. This helps users who do not have the expertise to manually adjust memory settings to achieve overclocking stability, thus optimizing memory performance.

examples

Enabling the DOCP profile on an ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Hero motherboard allowed a DDR4 RAM kit rated at 3200 MHz to operate at its maximum potential.

Commonly used in gaming or high-performance computing setups where enhanced memory performance is desired.

Using the DOCP setting on the MSI MPG B550 Gaming Edge WiFi, a set of Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 modules was set to run at 3600 MHz with improved latency settings.

Typical in DIY PC builds where user-friendly overclocking features are prioritized.
