What is a Li-ion battery?
A Li-ion (lithium-ion) battery is a rechargeable energy storage device that uses lithium ions moving between positive and negative electrodes to generate electrical power. These batteries are widely used in portable electronics, electric vehicles, and maker projects due to their high energy density, lightweight design, and ability to be recharged hundreds of times. Li-ion batteries typically operate at 3.7V nominal voltage and require specialized charging circuits to prevent overcharging and ensure safe operation.
