What is a LoRa?

LoRa (Long Range) is a low-power, wide-area network (LPWAN) wireless communication protocol designed for Internet of Things (IoT) applications. It enables long-range data transmission (up to 15km in rural areas) while consuming minimal power, making it ideal for battery-powered devices that need to operate for years. LoRa operates in unlicensed radio frequency bands and is commonly used for applications like smart city sensors, agricultural monitoring, and asset tracking where small amounts of data need to be transmitted over long distances.
