LoRaWAN
What is LoRaWAN?
LoRaWAN (Long Range Wide Area Network) is a low-power, long-range wireless communication protocol designed for Internet of Things (IoT) applications. It enables battery-powered devices to transmit small amounts of data over distances up to several kilometers while consuming minimal power, making it ideal for sensors and remote monitoring applications. The protocol operates in unlicensed radio spectrum and uses a star-of-stars network topology where end devices communicate through gateways to a central network server.
